ODT – Josh Howdyshell

Dedicated to all men and women who served in combat and their families who love them. Operation Dog Tag wishes to educate the community of their purpose and asks for help in aiding the returning veterans along with the ones that are already struggling at home.

And we veterans thank you as we continue “Making Man’s Best Friend Even Better For A Veteran” - Joe Scheffer, Director

I am Josh Howdyshell, I served with the United States Air Force/Iraq and am a wounded warrior. I am writing this letter because I have seen first hand what Operation Dog Tag can and has done for combat veterans. I have had the honor of being there at a couple of Joe Scheffer’s training sessions where some veterans had the opportunity with their new best friends and Battle Buddies to begin their service dog training program. It was amazing to see how well the veterans and dogs worked together and share a bond that man and dog teams must have to be successful.
I am currently awaiting the return of my caregiver, Amber, before I personally begin my own program with Operation Dog Tag, in which I also will receive my own service dog. I am looking forward to this wonderful journey that my best friend and I will take together. I personally wish to thank Joe Scheffer of Operation Dog Tag for allowing me to be a part of these milestones in our Veterans’ lives.

Sincerely, Josh Howdyshell,
US Air Force/Iraq
