OUTLAWS RETURN TO QLISPE
AIRWAY HEIGHTS — The yearly appearance of the Outlaws’ series takes place Aug. 15-16 at Qlispe Raceway with not only some unique racing but an opportunity for fans to get up close and personal in special way.
Fans will be able to have special exclusive access to the program with the purchase of a variety of tickets.
According to a Google search, “The Outlaws” is a drag racing series formerly known as Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, which has been rebranded as Speed Promotions Racing. It features no-prep drag racing events across North America, with a points championship and various special events. The series includes big-tire and small-tire classes, with significant prize money and a focus on intense racing.”
Quispe’s Ben Zimmerman wrote in an email that the competitors race only 1/8th mile length as opposed to the traditional quarter mile.
“They run “no time” so we turn off the scoreboards and printers so nobody know the times and speed,” Zimmerman explained. “If I had to guess they run low 4’s in the 1/8th.”
That special opportunity involves Radford Racing School which is partnering with The Outlaws to bring fans who buy a $200 special ticket a one of a kind RIDE-A-LONG. Get in the passenger seat of their Dodge SRT Demon 170 and get ready to race against another Outlaw/Fan pairing! Go 0-60 MPH in 1.66 seconds.
Speed Promotion Racing offers this message, to not “buy your tickets anywhere but TheFOAT.com. Any third-party tickets are fraudulent and will not be honored. Please stay vigilant.”
Parking opens at 10 a.m. Friday (racing at 5 p.m.) and 9 a.m. Saturday (racing 2 p.m).
The “best value” is advertised at the Winners’ Circle duper tickets for the best bang for your buck. It includes access to the pits, free parking, the Best Seats, giveaways and more. These tickets are the first to sell out - don’t miss out and secure them early.
This could be the last time to catch this series, Zimmerman pointed out. “There is a rumor going around that the “Outlaws” are going back to the street next season. Don’t know if it’s true or not. If so they won’t be coming back to Spokane without an invite and be paid very well.”

Kyle Keller breaks through at Tri-City Raceway for first West Series victory

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. (Aug. 10, 2025)— Emotions were flowing for Kyle Keller as he climbed out of Jan Qualkenbush’s No. 71 Ford in Tri-City Raceway’s Victory Lane on Saturday night.
Currently in his third full-time ARCA Menards Series West season, Keller had yet to bring home a checkered flag prior to the NAPA Auto Care 150. With all three of Keller’s runner-up finishes coming this year, a win seemed inevitable as the 20-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native prepared to tackle Tri-City’s arduous layout.
A late caution set up a sprint to the finish that pitted Keller on the outside lane against race leader Jake Bollman. The two leaned heavily on each other during the restart, but Keller generated enough momentum to overtake Bollman and lead the final closing four laps with no challenge from behind.
Keller had no idea how he was able to best Bollman. He was simply ecstatic to finally win a West Series event in his 41st start.
“Jake [Bollman] raced me super hard there,” Keller said. “It wasn’t dirty at all. Jake and I have raced super clean all year. It was awesome to race against those guys, but Jake I felt was definitely the fastest guy there.
Former NASCAR ‘Cup driver and local favorite, Greg Biffle, finished third. Biffle spent many a night in his formative years traveling from his Vancouver, Wash. home to run on the Tri City Raceway Tri-oval. Rounding out the top five were Keller’s teammate Robbie Kennealy and Huddleston.
Fortunes changed for Keller when Bollman contacted the slower car of Jonathan Reaume, damaging his front end and bringing out the yellow flag. Keller had a perfect opportunity in front of him; all he needed was to capitalize.
With pressure from Biffle, Keller needed to be resolute. He remained unfazed against Bollman and Biffle, executing a perfect restart that finally brought him to Victory Lane in the West Series.
As Keller celebrated, Bollman could not help but be disappointed by the outcome. Bollman had built a sizable lead over Keller and the rest of the field until he got into Reaume, a sequence of events that left him puzzled and frustrated.
“It stinks,” Bollman said. “I had such a fast car that these guys bring every week. I want to apologize. I’m not going to say [the incident with Reaume] was my fault on half of it, but I don’t know why two lapped cars are battling.”
The ARCA Menards Series West will stay in the Pacific Northwest for their next event at Portland International Raceway on Aug. 29, their second and final road-course race of 2025. The Portland 112 will go green at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET with FloRacing providing live flag-to-flag coverage.
Power breaks Penske drought at Portland - Palous claims fourth season title
From INDYCAR Media
PORTLAND, Ore. (Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025) – Will Power staked his claim to continue with Team Penske while Alex Palou secured his spot among the legends of the INDYCAR SERIES after a scintillating BITNILE.COM Grand Prix of Portland presented by askROI on Sunday at Portland International Raceway.
Power earned his first victory of the season and the first this year for Team Penske – helping the legendary team avoid its first winless season since 1999 – in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet.
Power, who does not have a contract with Team Penske next season, finished 1.5388 seconds ahead of NTT P1 Award winner Christian Lundgaard in the No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet. It was the 45th victory of Power’s legendary INDYCAR SERIES career.
“I think it’s just a big win for the whole team,” Power said. “We’ve had a rough year, and it’s not really because we’ve been off the pace. It’s just been unfortunate circumstances. It was a good, hard-fought win.
“Stoked. I’ve had a great career with Verizon and Penske, so I’ve really, really enjoyed winning for the guys and everyone I’ve worked with for a long time. It’s awesome.”
Palou finished third in the No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda to clinch his fourth NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship and third straight series title, joining Ted Horn (1946-48), Sebastien Bourdais (2004-07) and Dario Franchitti (2009-11) as the only drivers to achieve a three-peat.
Palou’s fourth Astor Challenge Cup in the last five seasons tied him with Mario Andretti, Bourdais and Franchitti for third on the all-time championship list, behind only A.J. Foyt (seven) and Scott Dixon (six).
It also was the 17th series championship for Chip Ganassi Racing, tying it with Team Penske for the most titles in INDYCAR SERIES history.
Road-Course Mastern Van Gisbergen captures Watkins Glen Victory

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – (Aug. 10, 2025) Shane Van Gisbergen claimed his fourth NASCAR Cup Series road course victory of the season Sunday afternoon and second win of more than 10-seconds on the field … and he made it look effortless.
The 36-year-old New Zealander led a race-best 38 of 90 laps - including the final 17 - at the historic Watkins Glen International in picturesque upstate New York, his No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet officially crossing the finish line by 11.116-seconds ahead of Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell.
Van Gisbergen, a former Australian SuperCars Series multi-time champion, joins racing legend Dan Gurney in scoring his first five career NASCAR Cup Series victories on road courses and he did it the same weekend as his Trackhouse team announced his multi-year contract extension.
“Good to get that one back,’’ said Van Gisbergen, in a nod to finishing runner-up in this race last year. “What an awesome race. Coming back through (the field after his final pit stop) I had lot of fun.
Van Gisbergen, in his first fulltime season at NASCAR’s elite level, has been essentially unstoppable on the road courses. His four victories on the year – also at Mexico City, Chicago and Sonoma, Calif. – gives him that rookie win record and he now ties perennial championship contender Denny Hamlin for most victories in the series this year.
For all intents and purposes, when it comes to this style of racing, his competition judges itself on how close it can come to him.
The third-place finish for Buescher, who edged Van Gisbergen for the win at Watkins Glen in 2024, still had a good day as far as his championship chances are concerned. The driver of the No. 17 RFK Racing Ford holds onto the final Playoff position – by 34 points over RFK teammate Ryan Preece – among the 16 drivers currently eligible for the Playoff field.
Two regular season races – at Richmond, Va. and Daytona Beach - now remain.
